Listed below are the WIC program’s standard and specialized contract formula products.
WIC Standard Formula Products
WIC infants not exclusively breastfed or receiving breastmilk may be issued WIC standard contract formula products. A prescription is not required for these formulas.
Therapeutic Formula Products
If one of WIC’s standard formula products are not appropriate for your patient, there may be a medical condition warranting a therapeutic formula. Review procedures for prescribing therapeutic formula.

Enfamil Infant
Milk based, iron-fortified.
Indications/Used for
General formula for full-term infants (0–12 months) and is usually given this formula from the hospital.
Available in
12.5 oz powder or 13 oz liquid concentrate.
Similac Soy Isomil
Soy-based, lactose-free.
Indications/Used for
Soy based formula for infants with milk protein
sensitivity or lactose intolerance.
Available in
12.4 oz powder or 13 oz liquid concentrate.
Enfamil Gentlease 12.4 oz powder
Milk based, iron-fortified.
Indications/Used for
Infants with sensitive stomachs; digestive comfort, proteins are broken down with less lactose, eases fussiness and gas.
Enfamil Reguline 12.4 oz powder
Milk-based, contains prebiotics.
Indications/Used for
Occasional constipation or stooling issues. Proteins are broken down and usually produces soft stools after one week of use.
Enfamil A.R. 12.9 oz powder
Milk-based with added rice starch.
Indications/Used for
Frequent spit-up or reflux, reduces spit-up by 50% in one week; added rice starch for thickness; prebiotics for gut health.

Similac Alimentum 12.1 oz Powder
Milk-based. Hypoallergenic formula for cow and/or soy protein allergies. Proteins are broken down into tiny pieces for easier digestion.
Indications/Used for
- Cow milk protein allergy
- Soy protein allergy
- Protein sensitivity, colic, severe diarrhea, and rashes

Milk-based. Increased vitamins and minerals. Increased calories for growth. Milk Fat Globule Membrane (MFGM) and DHA to support brain development.

Nutramigen 13 fl oz Concentrate
Milk-based. Hypoallergenic formula for cow milk protein allergy. Proteins broken down for easier digestion.

Provides additional calories for children with food restrictions. Additional dietary support for children with lactose and gluten intolerance.

Hypoallergenic formula with extensively hydrolyzed protein and the probiotic LGG for infants with food allergies including cow’s milk allergy.
